Camera Skills

DESCRIPTIONS

SKILL 1: PAN

This pan shot is a movement from left to right. The pan shot shows the audience the characters surroundings while the character is shown expressing herself. The camera is held steady going horizontally. I feel that this shot was very simple.

SKILL 2: TILT

This tilt shot moves the audience from one focus to another. The camera moves from one angle to the next, vertically. I liked taking this shot as it looked as if the world was spinning around the character.

SKILL 3:  DOLLY

A dolly shot shows the camera slowly focusing on the character by moving in closer. It emphasized that the character is the main character in the shot.

SKILL 4: TRACKING

Tracking shots are created to focus on the character in action such as walking, running or driving. This allows the audience to feel as if their in the characters perspective and get the same exhilaration or experience. This shot was fun because i had to walk alongside making sure i get her every movement.

SKILL 5: HANDHELD

This is a handheld shot which captured every movement of my character. I liked doing this shot, however I feel like it was a little boring.

SKILL 6: ZOOM

This video represents a zoom shot. The zoom shot focuses closer in on my character, posing for the audience. I liked recording this as it was a fun and simple shot to do.

SKILL 7: DOLLY REVERSE ZOOM

Dolly reverse zoom shots are hard to make as i struggled with it for quite a while.  The character was close up in the beginning which then was seen more from a distance.

SKILL 8: BOOM SHOT

For this boom shot, I recorded my character jumping off of a chair in action.  This shot confused me but once I got it, it was simple to do. I followed my character as she fell down to the floor.
